How do I find my rising sign?
Enter your birth date, accurate local birth time and birthplace into a natal chart calculator. Your Rising sign, also called the Ascendant, is the zodiac sign on the eastern horizon at that moment. A birthday alone cannot establish it. In our calculator, a known-time result lists the Ascendant separately from the Sun and Moon.
Find my Rising signUse the local time on the record
Start with the time recorded where you were born. The calculator uses the location’s historical IANA time zone, including daylight-saving rules, to find the UTC instant. You do not need to convert the time yourself. If a clock change makes the time ambiguous, the calculator asks which occurrence you mean rather than silently choosing one.
What if my birth time is unknown?
Choose the unknown-time option. The calculator will omit the Ascendant and houses rather than invent them. A noon reference can still introduce planetary signs, with uncertainty marked where a sign changed during the day. For polar birthplaces at or beyond 66.5° latitude, our supported method also omits angles and houses explicitly.
Try this.
- Check a birth record or another reliable source for the local time.
- Enter the date, time and birth city; confirm the selected location.
- Open the result’s Ascendant placement and read it alongside Sun and Moon.
A little more context.
Is Rising the same as Ascendant?
Yes. Both refer to the sign and degree rising on the eastern horizon at the birth instant.
Can I guess my rising sign from appearance?
Appearance or personality descriptions cannot establish a calculated Ascendant. An uncertain time should remain clearly uncertain.
