Are cards like Death, the Devil and the Tower always bad?
These cards introduce challenging themes, but they are not automatic predictions of harm. Death is commonly associated with transition; the Devil can raise attachment or constraint, and the Tower can suggest disruption or a revelation. The question and position help determine which part of that symbolism is useful.
Try a three-card readingPut the symbols in context.
A difficult image can be easier to read when you name the theme without escalating it. In an advice position, the Tower might invite an honest look at an assumption. The Devil could ask what limits your freedom. Death may describe an ending you already recognize. None requires you to invent a catastrophe that the situation does not support.
A question to take with you.
Try: “What is changing, constraining me or asking for a more honest foundation?” Start with the situation you know rather than the most frightening interpretation.
Try this.
- Read the card’s full meaning and its assigned position.
- Choose an interpretation that connects with the question without inventing a disaster.
