What questions should I ask tarot?

Ask a specific, open question about your experience or choices. “What am I overlooking?” and “What can I do next?” give you more to work with than a demand for a fixed prediction. For a relationship, try “How can I communicate what I need?” Keep one main question in mind as you draw the cards.

Questions for different moments

For love: “What pattern am I bringing to this connection?” For work: “What deserves my attention before I decide?” For a daily reading: “What could help me meet today with more intention?” Each prompt gives the symbols a context and brings the reading back to something you can consider or act on.

Make the question your own

Name the situation without loading the question with the answer you want. Instead of “Will they come back?”, explore “What would help me understand what I need from this relationship?” Tarot cannot verify someone else’s private thoughts. Read the cards as a perspective on your situation, then compare that perspective with what you actually know.

Try this.

  1. Choose one situation you want to understand.
  2. Ask what, how or where rather than when a guaranteed outcome will happen.
  3. Write down one reflection and one practical next step after the reading.

A little more context.

Can I ask tarot a yes-or-no question?

Yes, as a symbolic exercise. A yes-or-no pull cannot establish the outcome. Follow it with a question about your options or what you may be missing.

Should I repeat the same question?

Give yourself time to reflect before repeating it. Drawing again until a preferred answer appears can make the reading less useful. Return when the situation or your question changes.
